Installing SublimeText3 on Elementary OS

Sublime text is one of the best text editors out there and its cross platform. Its also free to use and try out to see if you like it or not. It also plays nicely with Elementary OS.

For the sake of making things easy we will be using the webupd8.org repository.

Open up a terminal and type the following:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/sublime-text-3

This has now added the webupd8 repository so lets get an updated list of packages.

sudo apt-get update

Now lets install SublimeText3

sudo apt-get install sublime-text-installer

Thats it all done! You can find SublimeText3 in your application menu. I always recommend keeping it in your dock. You can do this by opening sublime text, right clicking the icon and select keep in dock.
